- If less than 6 weeks after surgery, go to the Emergency Center
- If in place longer than 6 weeks, place a Foley catheter in the gastrostomy site. Inflate the balloon of the catheter with 5 ml of water and secure to the abdomen with tape. Contact your doctor’s office to schedule an appointment within 24 hours. If you do not have a catheter on hand or for difficulty inserting a catheter, go to the Emergency Center
