- For a G-button in place less than 6 weeks, only sponge bathing is recommended. Do not submerge the G-button in water
- Clean the skin around the tube site daily or as needed using a cotton swab and mild soap and water
- Do not use hydrogen peroxide
- Maintain the skin around the site clean and dry
- Do not apply a dressing to the site unless drainage is present. If drainage is noted, apply one split gauze square
