- If leaking occurs apply diaper type ointment to protect the skin
- If there is no skin breakdown, apply Vaseline ®or Aquaphor ®. If there is skin breakdown present, use Boudreaux’s Butt Paste ®, zinc oxide or Sensicare ®
- Give feeds over a longer period of time or give small volumes of formula more often. Always check with the physician who ordered the feedings.
- If more than half of feeds or medications leak, call your doctor’s office to schedule an urgent appointment
